Help us with engineering support of LVD assets for the Grid Modernization Program!

As part of the Grid Modernization Program, you will provide operational engineering and implementation support for newly developed low voltage distribution (LVD) applications. In this role, you will have primary responsibility for creating processes for these applications that will provide for enhanced real-time dynamic control of LVD assets.

 

Key associated duties will include:

  • Distribution line fault locating, isolation and service restoration
  • Integrated voltage and VAr control application operation
  • Voltage and VAr device monitoring
  • Remote phasing and TLM identification of smart meters
  • DSCADA program support
  • 24/7 storm restoration support
  • Emergent tasks identified through Grid Modernization Program

 

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; consideration may also be given to candidates with a four-year degree in Engineering Technology, Mathematics, or Physics
  • 5–10+ years of applied engineering experience, including project management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of utility operations and core engineering concepts; real and reactive power flow and system fault analysis will be required
  • Excellent communication skills; able to work with all levels of staff
  • Highly motivated, organized individual, able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Proficient computer skills including Perl and SCADA
