Are you comfortable working in a robust team environment, managing multiple priorities to achieve favorable business results?
In this fast paced role you will be responsible for managing High Voltage Distribution (HVD) and Distribution Substation design projects within Consumers Energy service territory. The work involves performing a wide variety of engineering activities associated with substation design, as well as actively supporting field storm restoration activities.
Typical duties include:
- Develops Scope documents and Cost estimates
- Equipment and material selection and application
- Scope document preparation; permit application and coordination
Supporting the development and maintenance of substation design and standards
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (may consider a Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree); PE certification is preferred
- 3+ years of applied engineering experience, with experience managing multiple tasks
- An understanding of electric power systems, HVD and Distribution substation design and CAD systems, and basic knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code is desired
- Ability to work as a team and/or independently to manage projects and oversee and direct the work of engineering technicians and contractors
- Strong organization, communication and leadership skills
