Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) is a wholesale power company owned by electric municipals. We provide economies of scale in power generation and related services to support community-owned electric utilities and maintain a positive and engaging environment for our staff.
The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be performing intermediate skilled technical work aiding FMPA and member regulatory compliance through a variety of coordinated research and communications, and related work as apparent or assigned.
Additional responsibilities include, conducting research and review of required compliance standards by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), SERC Reliability Corporation (SERC), and their respective Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Programs (CMEP); monitoring other industry groups, including participation in committees to stay informed of policies, standards, and implementations of new requirements and regulations; supporting the Agency's Internal Compliance Program (ICP) and assist in ensuring NERC compliance; assisting with internal training and communication; and evaluating compliance documentation for sufficiency and appropriateness. Work is performed under the general direction of the Manager of Regulatory Compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree with coursework in electrical engineering, business, legal, or related field
•Moderate experience in the electric power utilities industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Minimum of three years of regulatory compliance experience is preferred
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting technologies (e.g. TEAMS)
