South Carolina Chapter Home

Dear Members and Guests:

On behalf of the Officers and Members of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy®, I welcome you to our website.

The South Carolina Chapter of AABE is headquartered in Columbia, SC. The chapter presently has over 140 members with the majority of our members employed by the SCANA Corporation, the parent company of South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G).  Other members are affiliated with companies and organizations such as The Department of Energy, SEWW Energy, Duke Energy (Progress), and Santee Cooper.

The membership of this chapter includes representatives from all areas of the energy sector.  This includes, but is not limited to, nuclear, electric, natural gas, generation, and renewables.  Some of the professions represented are engineering, accounting, legal, information technology, procurement, rates, human resources, etc.

As the 2016 SCCAABE President, I am excited about the AABE organization and how our chapter plays a major role in the organization, not just in the Southeast, but also nationally.  My goal and vision in 2016 is that we carry out the AABE organization mission through our chapter programs and activities in five strategic areas:  Energy Policy, Professional Development, Community Outreach, Membership, and Scholarships.  These five areas are critical to the success of SCCAABE and the national organization.

Take few minutes to browse our website.  You will learn more about our Chapter, including our mission, history, committees, and activities.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.  I thank you for your interest.
