Dear Members and Guests:
Welcome to the website for the New Jersey Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE NJ). AABE NJ is headquartered in Newark, NJ and includes PSEG as one of its member companies.
Our mission is to provide energy professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, and students a pathway to learn more about the energy industry through education, mentoring, community service and business networking. As one of the 50-plus chapters of the AABE organization, we stand on the front line of critical issues facing the energy industry. New Jersey is especially situated due to its location between two major metropolitans regions (New York and Philadelphia).
The NJ Chapter has the privilege of counting among its members, PSEG Vice President of State Governmental Affairs Rick Thigpen. Mr. Thigpen is a member of the national AABE Board, and was recently named the Chair of AABE’s Legislative Issues and Public Policy (LIPP) Committee. AABE NJ supports Mr. Thigpen in his efforts, providing an opportunity to participate in energy policy debates across the state and country.
Minority professionals in all energy sectors (oil, gas, electricity, nuclear, renewables, government, technology, energy services and water) are welcome to join and give our membership a broader knowledge about the industry when topics arise. College students at accredited institutions studying energy-related fields are also encouraged to participate in AABE.
As you navigate through our website, please view our mission, senior officers, committees, activities and programs.
I look forward to your participation in AABE.
President New Jersey Chapter
