WELCOME!

Welcome to the Indiana Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE). AABE is a national association of energy professionals founded and dedicated to ensure the input of African Americans and other minorities into the discussions and developments of energy policies regulations, R&D technologies, and environmental issues.

Our mission is to provide energy professionals, executives, educators, entrepreneurs, and students a pathway to learn more about the energy industry through education, mentoring, community service and business networking. We are sure that you will soon feel the sense of pride we share in belonging to this growing chapter.  We hope that you will take advantage of the many benefits that come with membership and that you will be able to use AABE as both a forum for education, the exchange of innovative ideas and as a resource for current developments in the Energy Field.

AABE helps to create many exciting opportunities to its members. Benefits to Joining AABE include, but are not limited to:

  • The opportunity to network with over 1300 of the best and brightest in the industry, from line supervisors to chief executives.
  • Consistent engagement through monthly chapter meetings, quarterly meetings of the Board of Directors, and the annual conference.
  • Membership demonstrates to your employer you're committed to a career in the energy industry. (Employers often pay membership dues.)
  • Access to new opportunities in today's deregulated energy environment.
  • Leadership development through serving at the chapter or national level.

Minority professionals in all energy and energy related disciplines (oil, gas, electricity, nuclear, renewables, government, technology, energy services and water) are welcome to join and give our membership a broader knowledge about the industry when topics arise. College students at accredited institutions studying energy-related fields are also encouraged to participate in AABE.

As you navigate through our website, please take the opportunity to view information about our mission, executive officers, committees, scholarships and upcoming events.

Regards,

Eddie D. Melton, Chapter President
