The AABE to Offer Smart Grid Webinar

The American Association of Blacks in Energy is offering a webinar on Smart Grid, Friday, June 16th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm EST.  The webinar is called "Smart Grid:  A Game Changing Technology with Exciting Business and Public Policy Challenges".

As the deployment of smart technology accelerates, numerous business and public policy issues are arising. David Owens, Executive Vice President of the Edison Electric Institute and AABE Chair, Legislative Issues and Public Policy Committee; Thomas Graham, President of Pepco Holdings and member of the AABE CEO Advisory Council; and Ralph Cleveland, Executive Vice President, AGL Resources; Chairman, North American Energy Standards Board and 1st Vice Chair, AABE Board of Directors will be the presenters for this timely and thought provoking discussion.

Mr. Owens will provide a detailed background and context for these issues as well as provide insights into possible solutions. Mr. Owens will discuss what is driving the push for a smart grid, how smart technologies will transform the industry, and what business and policy issues will emerge as a result of the transition to a smart grid.   Mr. Graham will discuss his company’s experience implementing a smart grid and Mr. Cleveland will discuss the role that NAESB has been playing in the developing the standards for the Smart Grid.
