Greetings AABE Family and Friends:
I have been asked to plan our year end event and I hope that you are as excited as I am. I have chosen a minority owned venue, owned by Rev. Dr. Herbert H. Lusk, III. The View is located at 800 N. Broad Street and all proceeds are dedicated to bringing life-changing assistance to the surrounding community.
The event is scheduled for December 18th between 5:30-9:30 pm. A buffet dinner consisting of three entrees including chicken, fish, beef, three sides and dessert will be provided. Tea and water will be served with dinner. Regarding the BYOB, if you bring a bottle please note -- the facility’s policy is that all liquor and wine must be dropped off at the bar and will be served by the paid bartender. You will be issued drink tickets to use if you donate a bottle.
In addition to celebrating the Philadelphia Chapter of AABE, this event is a fundraisers for our book and scholarship programs. We have purposely kept the admission cost low so that you can donate and participate in the raffles. The cost for this affair is free for AABE members who are current on their membership dues – you still have time to join if you are not a member. Go to www.aabe.org and be sure to also join the Philadelphia chapter. The donation for guests is only $10 but you can always give more. All money collected will be used for the book/scholarship fund… so bring cash and/or your check book J.
I have planned for 40 attendees but have a strong feeling this number is going to soar. We are counting on you to be there and bring guests!! It is extremely important that you RSVP as soon as possible so that we can plan and pay for food accordingly. At the latest I will need an updated count by December 12.
What was the highlight for you this year with AABE? What should the future hold for the Philadelphia Chapter of AABE?? We want to hear from you. You can drop your thoughts in our suggestion box at the door or when we pass the MIC.
