Michigan Chapter

Dear Members and Guests:

The Michigan Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) is one of nine chapters in the Midwest Region of the organization. Headquartered in Jackson, MI member companies include (but not limited to): Consumers Energy, Michigan State University and DTE Energy.

Minority professionals in all energy sectors (oil, gas, electricity, nuclear, renewables, government, technology, energy services and water) are welcome to join and give our membership a broader knowledge about the industry when topics arise. College students at accredited institutions studying energy-related fields are also encouraged to participate in AABE.

Our mission is to provide energy professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, and students a pathway to learn more about the energy industry through education, mentoring, community service and business networking.

The Michigan Chapter is one of AABE's largest and most influential chapters. We formed a student chapter at Michigan State University in 2001. Our chapter has hosted three AABE National Conferences in the Detroit area (19th-1996, 25th-2002 and the 29th-2006) and has five members that serve on the AABE National Board of Directors.

As you navigate through our website, please view our mission, senior officers, committees, activities and programs.

I look forward to your participation in AABE.

Sincerely,

Darrell White
