Dear Members and Guests: The Florida Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) is one of eight chapters in the Southeast region of the organization. Our member companies include Florida League of Cities, Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA), Florida Power & Light (FPL), Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC), Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU), Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA), J. Davis & Associates, The NHE Group, Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), Progress Energy Florida, Tampa Electric Company (TECO) and the University of Florida. Minority professionals in all energy and energy-related disciplines (oil, gas, electricity, nuclear, renewables, government, technology, energy services and water) are welcome to join and give our membership a broader knowledge about the industry when topics arise. College students at accredited institutions studying energy-related fields are also encouraged to participate in AABE. Our mission is to provide energy professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, and students a pathway to learn more about the energy industry through education, mentoring, community service and business networking. The Florida Chapter is proud to announce that it will host the 2009 AABE National Conference in Orlando during the month of April.
