Welcome to the AABE Atlanta Chapter Website
Dear Members and Guests: On behalf of the Officers for the Atlanta Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), I would like to welcome you to our chapter website. The American Association of Blacks in Energy is dedicated to ensure the input of minorities into the developments of energy policy, research & development technologies, and environmental issues. AABE supports our youth in a positive manner, from mentoring high school students; awarding scholarships to college students; and the promotion of young professionals within the energy industry. The Atlanta Chapter of AABE is headquartered in the state of Georgia has been recognized nationally as one of the largest diverse AABE chapters with an average 200 members. Our member companies include AGL Resources, AGL Networks, Atlanta Gas Light, blackEnergy, Burns & McDonnell, CH2M Hill, Diversity Solutions, Fort Valley State University, Gas-South, GE Energy, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Natural Gas, Georgia Power, Georgia Systems Operations Corp., Green Power EMC, Greystone Power Corp., H.E.A.T., Honeywell, HTS Enterprise, Millennium Energy, Mirant Corp., Oglethorpe Power Corp., SCANA Energy, Snowden & King, Think Energy Group, S.L. King & Associates, SouthStar Energy, Synergetic Design and Southern Company (SCS, Southern Company Generation & Marketing, and Southern Nuclear). Minority professionals in all energy-related disciplines (oil, gas, electricity, nuclear, renewables, government, technology, energy services and water) are welcome to join and give our membership a broader knowledge about the industry when topics arise. College students at accredited institutions studying energy-related fields are encouraged to participate in AABE.
